State Agency & Regulatory Framework
Pennsylvania has no magnet fishing-specific statute. The Susquehanna River and its tributaries run through historically significant territory — including the Wyoming Valley, site of Revolutionary War-era conflicts. PFBC access sites provide widespread legal access to Pennsylvania waterways. Pennsylvania's found property law applies to recovered items of value. Pittsburgh and Philadelphia metro-area waterways may have additional local ordinances — check with municipal authorities.

Pennsylvania State Parks (DCNR Bureau of State Parks) has not prohibited magnet fishing system-wide. Contact specific parks for site rules. PFBC-managed waterway access sites follow general public recreation rules.
Waterway Access & Navigability
Pennsylvania's major navigable waterways include the Susquehanna, Delaware (eastern border), Ohio (western point), Allegheny, and Monongahela Rivers. PFBC manages extensive public boating access throughout the state. The Delaware River is jointly managed with adjacent states under the Delaware River Basin Commission.
