State Agency & Regulatory Framework
North Carolina's NC Parks prohibition on removal of items under G.S. 113-35 has been interpreted to cover magnet fishing finds — the activity itself may be tolerated in some parks but keeping any finds is prohibited without specific authorization. NCWRC fishing access areas outside state parks may offer alternative access. North Carolina's antiquities laws (G.S. 70-12) protect archaeological resources on state land.
