State Agency & Regulatory Framework
Arizona waterways are dominated by federal management — Lake Mead, Lake Havasu, Lake Powell, and other Colorado River reservoirs are federal recreation areas. USACE and Bureau of Reclamation rules apply at these locations. Arizona also has significant tribal land adjacent to and underlying many waterways; always verify land ownership before accessing any Arizona waterway. Arizona's State Historic Preservation Office enforces the Arizona Antiquities Act for state lands.
State Park Policy
Arizona State Parks has not prohibited magnet fishing system-wide. Desert-state waterways are less common recreational magnet fishing destinations, but rules follow general park activity guidelines. Contact specific parks.
Waterway Access & Navigability
Arizona's major navigable waterways include the Colorado River (extensively managed by USACE, BOR, and NPS) and portions of the Salt and Verde Rivers. The Colorado River access is primarily managed through federal recreation areas. Many Arizona waterways are seasonal or impounded; verify waterway access type before fishing.
